This part of Pembrokeshire is designated as a National Park and in the neighbourhood is some of the finest coastal scenery in the British Isles. Many small coves and quiet beaches are within easy reach, Cwm-yr- Eglyws being especially attractive. Cars can be driven onto Newport Sands which are ideal for children and have safe bathing.

Newport has two good hard tennis courts and, overlooking the bay, is an 18 hole golf course.

There is an excellent boat club that, in the summer months, organises sailing races in the bay. Members of the club may use its boats. Please enquire in the club re details.

There is very good walking on the coastal path and on the Prescelly Mountains inland of Newport.
 


There is sea trout and salmon fishing in the river Nevern and nearby Teifi and good still water trout fishing within easy reach. You can sea fish from the beach and in the estuary of the Nevern.

In the cottage we keep a large number of pamphlets relating to places of local interest.
